What is White Spot Treatment?
White Spot Treatment is a minimally invasive procedure designed to fade or eliminate the chalky white marks that can appear on enamel after braces, early decay, or mineral imbalance. Using resin infiltration and remineralization techniques, we restore a uniform, healthy-looking surface without drilling.
When you might need it
- White lesions appeared after orthodontic treatment
- Enamel hypomineralization or fluorosis is affecting your smile
- Early-stage caries needs to be stopped before it becomes a cavity
- You want a cosmetic improvement without veneers or crowns
How it works
- The dentist evaluates the depth and type of white spots
- Teeth are cleaned and isolated to keep the working area dry
- A mild etching gel opens the porous surface of the lesion
- A special low-viscosity resin is infiltrated into the enamel and light-cured
- The tooth is polished, blending the spot with the surrounding enamel
Benefits
- Painless and drill-free, preserving healthy enamel
- Immediate cosmetic improvement in a single visit
- Halts the progression of early decay
- Long-lasting results that resist staining
- Boosts confidence by creating an even, natural smile
What to expect
Most cases are completed in 45 to 60 minutes per arch. You may feel slight pressure and a cool sensation during etching, but no anesthesia is usually needed. Results are visible right away, with the white spots becoming significantly less noticeable or disappearing entirely.
Recovery & aftercare
There is no downtime, and you can eat and drink as soon as you leave. Maintain excellent oral hygiene, use fluoride or hydroxyapatite toothpaste, and limit sugary or acidic snacks to prevent new lesions. A check-up every 6 months helps preserve the result for years.
